- Find BSN Programs

It’s a great time to become a registered nurse (RN) in Ohio. With a population of 11.6 million people and not enough RNs to go around, there’s a big push to find more Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or BSN, students in the buckeye state. By studying here, you will help solve a serious problem in Ohio’s medical care system. Consider that there are going to be a projected 3,500 open jobs for nurses by the year 2020. As the average population age goes up, this nursing supply shortage will only get more extreme.
Beyond the helpful nature of becoming a nurse, it’s a steady line of work. You can become an RN with either a four-year BSN degree or a two-year associate degree in nursing. Only nurses with BSN degrees are qualified to get the best jobs and to pursue higher education in the future, so it makes sense to get one if you can. You’ll earn an average salary of $61,750 as a nurse with BSN in Ohio.
Ohio is not a member of the nurse licensure compact. While this makes it hard to work as a traveling nurse, it isn’t impossible. Besides, with a lot of small cities around the buckeye state, you can always look for temporary gigs that involve traveling without crossing state borders.
The Best BSN Programs in Ohio
There’s a lot to think about when looking at accredited BSN programs in Ohio. Look closely at the average class sizes, clinical rotation procedures, and NCLEX-RN pass/fail rates for each program.
