It’s a great time to study to become a nurse in Connecticut. With a population of 3.5 million people, this state is facing one of the worst nursing shortages in the country. On the plus side, Connecticut has plenty of nurse educators who are ready to teach new students. Less than one thousand qualified students fail to gain admission to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or BSN, program per year.
Thanks to a combination of a strong state economy and a high demand for nursing professionals, Connecticut offers an average nursing salary of $88,530. That’s one of the highest average nurse salaries in the country. The state’s combination of high salaries and lots of open jobs is hard to beat. Completing a four-year BSN program and passing the NCLEX-RN exam in Connecticut will set you up for a lucrative career as a nurse.
Unfortunately, Connecticut is not a member of the Nurse Licensure Pact. This makes working as a traveling nurse with a Connecticut license hard to do. Regardless, getting a BSN degree in Connecticut is a great career choice.
The Best BSN Programs in Connecticut
Connecticut is home to many excellent, approved BSN programs. Look at the schools’ admission requirements, class sizes, and NCLEX-RN pass rates to figure out which one is right for you.
