Find a BSN Degree in Louisiana
Louisiana is in the middle of a severe nursing crisis. As a result, it’s easy to get a job as a registered nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or BSN, degree in the pelican state. The situation is so extreme that one hospital, Our Lady of the Lake, began offering $10,000 signing bonuses for two-year contracts in 2017. That’s the first time a signing bonus has been offered in this state since the 1970s. With more than 1,000 unfilled nursing positions right now, it’s easy to see why Louisiana is desperate for more nurses.
The average salary for an RN in Louisiana is $63,070. You can become qualified after four years of study in a BSN program. There is one other option - an associate degree in nursing (ADN), which can be earned in two to three years.
Beyond the job, there’s a lot to enjoy in the state of Louisiana. New Orleans, the largest city of the state, is home to some of America’s most vibrant art and music, including the yearly world-famous Mardi Gras celebration. You’ll never be bored in this state.
